Hyphatect
Fire resistant & biodegradable shelters for native fauna post-fire
Utilizing a new composite material consisting of low-grade wool, brewery waste, and mycelium, Hyphatect strengthens our ecosystem whilst adding value to the waste streams of multiple industries.
The Problem
After a fire occurs, native animals find it difficult to find shelter from predators like cats and foxes. Hyphatect addresses this by providing an area of safety wherein wildlife can behave naturally without the threat from these predators.
The shelters inherent biodegradability allows a “set and forget” mentality for deployment and its fire-resistance allows it to be deployed before a fire, enabling zero response time.
Our Solution
Hyphatect is a collapsing shelter designed to accommodate multiple species needs whilst remaining easy to transport and deploy.
Its intelligent design ensures that it does not negatively affect the area it is placed by ensuring both light and rain can still make it to any covered vegetation.
