What is Mycelium?
Mycelium is the vegetative, root-like structure of fungi, and it serves as the primary mode of nutrient and resource transportation for the fungus.
It is a network of fine, thread-like filaments known as hyphae.
Mycelium is usually hidden underground, within decaying organic matter, or in other substrates where it can obtain nutrients and energy from organic materials, such as dead plants, wood, or organic debris.
We can use mycelium as a kind of living biological glue to bind together waste into new products such as a biodegradable alternative to styrofoam.
